Just a quick post in response to this one by Ben Hubermann.
I use my camera to capture the moment and also as a tool to record textures and ideas that can later be translated into fabric or mixed media. The photographs are not translated in a pictorial manner, but rather interpreted in a variety of paints and media.
Today my eye was taken by the placements in this picture, which probably won’t appeal to anyone else.
No. I like it very much!

You are getting there… you have the ‘eye’ you just need time to learn a few of the techniques.

I like photos like this, when you squint at them you can see lovely abstractions and ideas for either paints/paper and/ or textile experiments … it helps you to look beyond the obvious …

That green is lovely.

Thanks Ann. Interestingly – I only ‘saw’ the red hidden in the green when I photographed it – the blue in the foreground was ‘invisible’. It would probably have been in focus if I’d seen it – and I would have missed the rest of the composition!
