    1. Hmm, now you’ve added another dimension. I can only speak from experience, and it would appear from emails that there are a lot of people that agree. Just wish they wouldn’t show so much on TV, it can be wall to wall which is very irritating if it doesn’t interest everyone in a household. Thanks for dropping in. I’ve got so much catching up to do, hence the delay in acknowledging.

  1. Catholic grammar schools of my era were. totally devoid of gyms and sport. The first I encountered any type of scholastic team was in high school (also Catholic run by Sisters) but this was waayyyyy before there were girls teams. The only female sport offered was cheerleading, and to my mother’s utter dismay I tried out and was chosen. Goodness, did I LOVE everything about being a cheerleader!!!!
Now that the sexes are more equal in school sport (and in life) I umderstand how horribly second class” cheerleading really was. However, I enjoyed EVERY second of it grew my confidence and social skills because of it.
I realize my thinking might be completely different had I tried out and not been selected.
    Great post…really gets people thinking!
