You never know what you will hear.

Today my other half had to make a journey by train.  It was a regular journey, and he was looking forward to the run home so that he could read his paper in peace and quiet.  Apparently his enjoyment was spoiled as the peace was regularly interspersed with comments from another passenger as he read items from a different publication to his wife.

It reminded me of a journey I made a while ago.  The carriage was sparsely populated, but the seats behind me were occupied by two young girls with very loud voices.  I didn’t want to hear their conversation, but I had no option.  Here is a snippet..

‘I hate sleeping with a new man.  He might see my feet’

You don’t need to hear the rest of the coversation….

  1. This is the first time I’ve been to your blog in a while…in fact I don’t think I have been to this new one…I like the changes from your old one, and will be back again to explore further. Cheers.

  2. I agree! From ads on television to things people post in public forums to inappropriate conversations in public…have we as a culture lost all sense of shame? or decency? or just respect for others who might hear?

  3. I can’t believe what people discuss out in the open where others can here them. At Wal-Mart the other night a lay two people back in line was talking on her cell phone as loudly as if she were in her backyard. Very loud I should say, people for several lines around could hear her entire conversation!
