Work in Progress

What I like about art is that it parallels real life in so many ways, but there is a much quicker end result.  I admit it, I’m a Work in Progress!  And I know I have a long way to go.  However, rather than bore you with the ins and outs of my imperfections I thought I’d show you an artistic work in progress.  Who knows, I might even find an answer to the question that my DH often asks….. ‘Yes, but what IS it?’.

Do you remember I pointed you to this tutorial?  If so, you might remember seeing this picture

So, what happened to them?

Well, first of all I used Markal (Shiva) Paintstiks to make marks.

They were similar to the ones on this piece of tissue

They immediately became more interesting.  However, I wanted to use them together, so the next step was to cut them up

Once they were jumbled up together they looked much more integrated, and ready for use.  So what next?

Why!  Stick them back together of course…..

It’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there.  Once it’s dry I have ideas for its use, and I’ll show you the next steps in a day or two.

As for the other piece of tissue, my only ‘dilemma’ there was ‘which way up’.  I think I know the answer now.  Here it is ‘upside down’

I’d be interested to hear what you think – and why.

  1. What do I think? I love the colors. I think that you need to find some pieces of contrasting color and spell out the word – “Play” and hang it for all to see! I love your creations!
