I have had several comments and questions about the headers I have chosen for this blog. Here is some information.
One header (the red one) is hand stitching on an Embellished (machine needle-felted background). You can find out more about the embellisher and my DVDs here
The other photographs are of poppy seedheads on vegetarian silk. Vegetarian silk is made from plant fibres, I hand dyed them. There is more information here. Packs of printed cards are available featuring similar images. You can find out more about them here.
Please don’t hesitate to ask more questions – I’m very user friendly!
It is indeed a beautiful header. The colours are beautiful and the fabric with the poppy seedheads go wonderful together. Well done!

The poppy seedheads have been a mystery to me. Have always loved your choice of colors to go with the natural green, but wasn’t sure what kind of seed pods. I must admit I have sat and stared at the photo several times.
The poppy seed heads are magnificent…..I wondered what they were also; and, was going to write. Great!
beautiful colors in the hand dyed silk!
Thank you, and for visiting too.
One of WordPress’s shortcomings is the lack of titles or captions on header images! I like how you’ve troubleshot that problem and hope you don’t mind if I steal your idea?
With your permission, I’m adding “header info” to my navigation toolbar, and will include a link to your blog explaining who inspired it!
Goodness, I don’t mind at all. Yes, I agree, it would be good to be able to add a caption to some header images. I’ll pop over when you’ve done it and comment there too. Thanks for visiting and asking.
you’re most welcome.
you should get a pingback or trackback or whatever those things are called when I add the nav thingy. (LOL i need to get a handle on computer/blog jargon!)
Haha! No, please don’t get a handle on it. If you do I’ll be the only one that hasn’t
I’ll watch for the ping!
What beautiful header pictures – I love the embellished fabrics!! Thansk for stopping by my page at http://www.midihideaways.wordpress.com and for the like!
Thank you. I appreciate your visit too.
Cool header stuff! Thanks for sharing, because I had no clue what those little green things are.
Poppy seedheads change as they age and become evenmorebeautiful. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
