The photo challenge this week gives an opportunity to air some pictures that you haven’t seen before, and also to hilight some that are my favourites. I’ll be repeating the exercise at Just Snaps, but no repeats of photographs. There will also be a resume of the tree over here when I can get it all together! So, here is a little collection.

The New Year began with friends, a good way to start January

February brought us snow. I don’t like snow….

March saw us visiting Wales. I was teaching at Tredegar House

In April we celebrated someone’s special birthday. This was just one course. The rest were equally delicious. Happy Birthday J

May was the month our grandson discovered that he LOVES hot chocolate! It has become a regular treat.

In June we celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II. Once again with friends, and also with a lighted beacon.

July brought us the first of the garden fruits. Yellow raspberries are delicious raw, but also make a lovely jam.

In August someone became 5!

It wasn’t us jetting off to places far away, but September did bring us some blue skies and a relief from the rain that seems to have been here since drought was declared in April.

October, and autumn is in full swing. Still flowers in the garden. Such a joy as the days become shorter.

This was probably the hardest month of the year. Much of the month was spent sorting through the things of a much loved relative. So many memories, I’ll be writing more about these in 2013

I’m so thankful that I have been able to spend 2012 with those that I love, and also make the most of being able to pass on my skills to students worldwide.
Just a few glimpses. I had far too many pictures from which to choose. I hope your 2012 was a happy one, and that you will look back without regret. You can find full details of the challenge here where there are also lots more entries. I hope you will join it too.

A tough challenge and you have great results – December is my favourite!
Thanks Gilly, it’s good to look back. I was thinking of doing something on the last day of the year – but I think this will do now….

Pretty hard to trim them down to only 12, right? But your collection is lovely… and very colorful!
Congrats, and wishes for a peaceful and joyful year of 2013!
Yes, 12 is difficult. I cheated on one, though. The view from the Back Door has 25 because I thought 12 trees might be a little boring!
Just funny!

You chose well! Your grandson is precious and I totally agree with him on the hot chocolate!
FYI – you might want to edit your blog to remind readers that if they double click, a slide show will open and then they can see the full descriptions under each picture.
Happy New Year!
Nancy
I didn’t know this, although I probably should have done. Thanks for the visit and for the heads up!
np – I’ve had other bloggers help me with things I didn’t know about either.
The first photo on the top left makes me think of a dog’s eye view. It is very interesting.
