I cannot resist a carrot
No matter how hard I try
I peel them and slice them and trim them, all neat
Then sooner than cook them I hurry to eat.
I cannot resist a carrot
No matter how pretty they lie.
The colour’s seductive, they come in a bunch
But, more than anything, just hear that crunch!
I cannot resist a carrot
No matter how much I sigh
I’ll slap at your fingers if you try to pinch!
I’ll spare you no quarter! Not even an inch!
No matter how many, I know I’ll want more
But please to remember, THEY MUST BE SERVED RAW!

I love this poem, but I like them cooked as well.
I like the flavour, but I prefer the crunch
Lovely poem nuvofelt, well what did you think of poets corner.
Thanks Harry, I loved it. I’ll be back
Great poem … I like them raw, blanched in between, cooked and glazed. A special favourite is Carrot Vichyssoise! Keep writing poetry nuvofelt!
When the moment comes you just have to pick up a pen! Now, did I tell you that I like lemon glazed carrots? mmmmmm. Maybe I’ll cook them tonight
Want some …
