Digital photography is so easy. It can be as simple or as complicated as you wish. Even inexpensive cameras are fairly reliable, and often the quality is quite good. I have little one that lives in my pocket. I whip it out at unexpected moments and use it for a variety of subjects, not all of which would appeal to most people.
For instance, this picture of a rubbish bin may seem a little odd. Loaded onto the computer, though, it becomes a design source that can be manipulated and used for textile or other art projects
Do you, however, hanker after the days of negatives and prints? How long is it, for instance, since you held a disposable camera? Do you fancy having a go with one now? Have you heard about the disposable camera project?
No?
Well, why not get involove?. All the information you need is here, and I’m already taking part. You can follow the adventures of my camera here, I bought it for a specific purpose, but I’m waiting for the link for another camera, which I will use differently. Let me know if you join in. I think it’s a great idea.

My camera is Fujifilm S5600 and I was out today in the rain; took a few pictures when it stopped. I’ll try to do something with them on my computer later! Editing is important too.
It’s surprising what you can do when you edit! Thanks for visiting, Mike.
I’ve got a (not very new) digital Canon PowerShot SD500 – basic point-and-shoot. I held back from digital when the pixel level was low, but now digital photos are excellent – and it’s much greener than using all those poisonous processing chemicals! As for the disposable cameras – it looks as if a few of them were released not too far from where I live, but I doubt I’ll come across one or recognize it if I do
Sounds like an interesting project, though!
We had a lovely PowerShot, but it was dropped. Now it’s difficult to use. I miss it. Yes, we must think about those chemicals these days, but I hope you can come across one of those cameras. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to mine.
I have a Lumix Panasonic lightweight camera. Still have a Canon Powershot A75 with a swivel screen but the camera is too heavy for me. It does take beautiful pictures though.
Love being able to take good macro shots & my Lumix does that so much better than any other camesa i have.
The Disposable Camera project sounds fab. Thanks for the link will keep watching for more info. Hope you enjoyed your part in it:-)
Yes some cameras are too heavy. I leave the heavy one to DH!
I have a little, red Canon which I simply point and shoot. After visiting so many blogs with amazing photos, I’m hankering after a fancier camera. But knowing me…the more complicated…the less interested I am. So I’ll just continue to…point and shoot.
You produce lovely, interesting pictures. Don’t stop
“I have little one that lives in my pocket. I whip it out at unexpected moments…”
so do i with my Canon PowerShot SX130 IS
I’ve come to the conclusion that we all need bigger pockets for our cameras! But isn’t it lovely not to have to find a darkened room to change the film
